CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) - A man was extradited from Pennsylvania to Connecticut for a shooting and money laundering investigation.
Cromwell police said 24-year-old Meliek Garland of Brooklyn, NY was turned over to them on Tuesday.
Garland was held at the Butler County Pennsylvania Corrections Facility on charges for crimes in that state.
He was turned over to Cromwell police by a bail enforcement agent for an extraditable warrant.
“The warrant stemmed from a shooting in Cromwell and a money laundering investigation on Dec. 28, 2020,” Cromwell police said in a news release.
Garland was given a $3 million bond, which he could not post.
He appeared in court on Wednesday.
According to police, the shooting happened on West Street in Cromwell.
Michael Anthony Stevens, 30, also of Brooklyn, NY, was charged in connection with that incident.
Police said a gunman fired at least one round into an SUV.
No one was hurt.
