A Russian-Canadian national Monday pleaded guilty to federal money laundering conspiracy charges rooted in a scheme to provide weapons to the Russian government.

She and two others were accused of purchasing and shipping millions of dollars in U.S.-sourced electronics to support Russia in its war efforts against Ukraine, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Kristina Puzyreva, 32, of Montreal, Canada, entered the guilty plea in a Brooklyn, New York, federal court. The woman and her husband Nikolay Goltsev were accused of traveling from Canada to Brooklyn on multiple occasions to meet with another man, Salimdzhon Nasriddinov. During those trips, Puzyreva used multiple bank accounts to make large, structured cash deposits in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The deposits were then transferred to her and Goltsev’s accounts in Russia, according to a DOJ news release.

The scheme involved two companies that were registered in Brooklyn: SH Brothers Inc. and SN Electronics, Inc.

Prosecutors say the SH Brothers corporate entities shipped more than $7 million worth of restricted technology to Russia.

Officials later found those electronic parts and circuits in seized Russian weapons platforms and signals intelligence equipment in Ukraine, including unnamed aerial vehicles (UAVs) and guided missiles, according to the release.

Puzyreva faces as many as 20 years in prison.

Goltsev and Nasriddinov face charges in connection with the operation. Their cases are ongoing.
