COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A man from Westerville has been sentenced to prison time for involvement in fraud schemes,

Court documents said 34-year-old Prince Oduro had been involved in multiple fraud and money laundering schemes for years, including romance scams and taking advantage of bank customers.

Authorities found between 2015 and 2017, Oduro had stolen personal information of at least five customers of JPMorgan Chase Bank where he worked at the time, using the stolen information to launder money obtained from online romance scams, which totaled at least $1 million through March 2020.

A warrant was executed on Oduro's phonem which revealed messages in WhatsApp where he admitted to laundering money.

Authorities arrested Oduro in February 2022, and he pleaded guilty in 2023, though continued to commit fraud, causing an additional $709,500 in loss. When this was discovered, Oduro was again arrested in late 2023.

Oduro has been sentenced to 102 months in prison for wire fraud and conspiring to commit money laundering, and must also pay $1.8 million in restitution
