A Cincinnati man has pled guilty in federal court on charges related to fentanyl trafficking and money laundering, according to the Department of Justice.

Officials say Nathaniel Williams, 44, admitted he possessed with the intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and committed money laundering.

Authorities say his plea agreement includes a recommended 10-year prison sentence.

Court documents allege that, in August 2023, Williams told an undercover agent that he had a large amount of cash from trafficking fentanyl and was looking for ways to transfer the money into the banking system.

Prosecutors say Williams provided the cash from his sales to the undercover agent who then wired $15,120 into Williams' bank account. Officials say Williams withdrew $10,000, in cash, a few days later.

Authorities say on Oct. 18, 2023, agents discovered more than $44,000 in cash at Williams' residence while executing a search warrant, where approximately 527 grams of fentanyl and fentanyl mixtures were in a secret furniture compartment.

Williams was indicted by a federal grand jury in November of 2023, federal officials say.
