A Nasewaupee man was arrested last week and charged with money laundering and theft, according to a press release from the Door County Sheriff’s Office.

Dale Pautsch, 80, was arrested June 27 following search warrants executed on his Nasewaupee home and Gardner business.

The search warrants followed a lengthy and complex fraud investigation conducted by the Door County Sheriff’s Office and Sturgeon Bay Police Department, according to the press release.

Pautsch appeared in court on Friday, June 28 and remains in custody on a $20,000 cash bond. He is charged with one count of money laundering–knowingly receiving/acquirings proceeds over $10,000-$100,000/crime against an elderly or disabled person; one count of theft in a business setting ($10,000-$100,000)/crime against an elderly or disabled person; and one count of money laundering/knowingly receiving/acquiring proceeds over $100,000, crime against an elderly or disabled person.

The investigation is on-going and the Sheriff’s Office said there is some concern that there may be additional victims.
