Two Upstate men have been sentenced to prison for drug trafficking, money laundering and possession of firearms in connection with drug trafficking.

According to the US Department of Justice, Rashaad Green, 31, and Shaquille Barber, 30, had been flying to California and other western states to obtain pounds of marijuana to deal in South Carolina, between 2020 and 2024.

Green and Barber had engaged in money exchanges using cash from the drug dealing, and their financial records showed hundreds of thousands of dollars flowing through their bank accounts, the US Department of Justice said.

The men were also found to have owned guns in connection to the drug trafficking.

Green was sentenced to 15 years in prison and five years of supervision after his release. Barber was sentenced to seven years in prison and five years of supervision after his release.

In 2020, Barber was arrested following a shooting in Union County, where two people were killed.

The court ordered Green to surrender jewelry, firearms, and cash and imposed a confiscation judgment of $500,000.

Barber was ordered to surrender jewelry, a Rolex watch, a 2019 Audi Q8, a firearm, and cash and imposed a confiscation judgment of $250,000, officials said.
