Six people have been arrested in the city of Leskovac as part of an ongoing anti-corruption operation, following the orders of the Special Department for the Fight Against Corruption at the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Nis. They are suspected of money laundering and abuse of official position.

Former assistant to the Mayor of Leskovac P.G. (52), and M.S. (50), the head of the Bojisina Local Community Council and the de facto owner of the business Dosta Spasic have been apprehended on suspicion of money laundering.

N.S. (61), head of the Grdelica Village Local Community Council, N.S. (34), head of the Dobrotin Local Community Council, M.S. (64), head of the Zaguzane Local Community Council, and D.S. (55), head of the Mala Grabovnica Local Community Council, were arrested on suspicion of abuse of official position.

The suspects will be brought before the relevant prosecutor’s office along with the criminal charges.

The Internal Affairs Ministry, Criminal Police Administration, and the Department for the Fight Against Corruption continue their efforts to combat corruption across Serbia, said the press release.
