HOWARD COUNTY, Texas — A traffic stop for speeding in Howard County led to four people being arrested for money laundering, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
In early September, a DPS sergeant reportedly conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 20 for speeding.
DPS said that, during the traffic stop and after further investigation, the people in the vehicle had a connection to the recent shutdown of massage parlors in Midland and had a large amount of money.
With the DPS Criminal Investigations Division's assistance, four people were reportedly charged with money laundering between $30,000 and $150,000.
DPS said the driver was also charged with promoting prostitution.
