KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Four men are facing federal charges after they allegedly sold fake military parts to the Defense Logistics Agency.
A grand jury in Knoxville indicted David Turner, 59, Roger Wolfgram, 56, Adam Boudet, 39, and Alex Bath, 50, on June 17. The men pleaded not guilty and were released ahead of a Sept. 8 trial.
Prosecutors say the group worked together to obtain contracts with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply original equipment manufacturer parts like fuel injectors, turbochargers and generators. Instead of delivering the real parts, they allegedly sent unapproved aftermarket versions.
The indictment says the men created fake labels and altered documents to make the parts look like they came from the original equipment manufacturers. Turner and Wolfgram also allegedly set up a kickback scheme where Turner would get a cut of the profits from selling the aftermarket parts at original prices.
To hide the money, prosecutors say Wolfgram paid Turner's kickbacks through a company Turner created in an attempted money laundering.
All four men could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted of wire fraud. Turner and Wolfgram face an additional 20 years and a $500,000 fine if convicted of money laundering.
