Natasha McCurdy and her sister, Felicia Neil, were under an investigation for months before the Staunton Police Department charged the pair.

In April 2024, McCurdy and Neil were accused of embezzling and stealing money from the Ware Elementary Parent Teacher Association account. When accounts were probed, multiple charges unrelated to PTA spending were alleged to be found. In court records, receipts of toys that were purchased matched toys found in the toy store the pair owned and ran together.

McCurdy and Neil were each served one charge of embezzlement and one count of money laundering. There is currently no court date set for either one of them yet.
